Superman 85th Anniversary

Happy Anniversary Superman!

Superman, the iconic superhero, is celebrating his 85th anniversary this week! It's hard to believe what the world would look like without Superman over  the past 85 years since the character first appeared in Action Comics #1 on April 18, 1938. Globally, the logo on his chest is as recognizable as the Christian cross, the McDonalds Arches and the Nike Swoosh. Created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman quickly became a cultural phenomenon and has since starred in countless comics, movies, TV shows, and every other media.

Superman has appeared in a total of 14 films, with the first being released in 1948 and the most recent being 2017's Justice League. The character has also been portrayed by a number of actors over the years, including Christopher Reeve, Henry Cavill, and Brandon Routh.

But Superman is more than just a beloved character - he's had a profound impact on popular culture. Superman has become a symbol of hope, justice, and heroism, inspiring generations of fans to be their best selves and to stand up for what's right. The character has been used to promote everything from recycling to literacy, and his iconic "S" shield has become one of the most recognizable symbols in the world.

As a lifelong Superman fan, I am excited to celebrate the character's 85th anniversary and use it as an excuse to look over my collection all week. Superman has always been more than just a superhero to me - he's been a symbol of hope and inspiration. He was a reminder that no matter how dark things may seem, there is always a way to make things right.

Happy 85th anniversary, Superman!
