After returning from the world of Heroes Reborn, Steve Rogers resumes his role as the Sentinel of Liberty. While the world rejoices at Captain America's return, his newfound fame leads to a dangerous obsession with "Capmania." Is there a sinister force at work behind the scenes? Meanwhile, Cap must adapt to life without his iconic shield, which has been lost at sea. He must do so quickly as Hydra is on the rise, now led by a mysterious figure. Additionally, the lord of the dream dimension has plans to turn Cap's life into a nightmare.
